Message of hope in annual Easter ad
Hobby Lobby’s annual full-page Easter message is once again being read in newspapers across the country.
For years, Hobby Lobby has run holiday messages at Christmas, Easter and Independence Day. “These ads don’t include sale items or special pricing,” stated company president Steve Green. “We just want to let people know that we love our Lord, and we love our country.”
This year’s ad features typewriter font and ink spots on a blank page. The text reads “Let the author of life write your story.” An Old Testament scripture from Jeremiah 29:11 reads “’For I know the plans I have for you,’ declares the Lord, ‘plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.’”
Since 1997, these holiday messages have been placed in newspapers Hobby Lobby regularly advertises in. With the addition of social media, many more thousands of people view and share the life-giving messages.
This year’s ad is a reminder of the reason for Easter as it celebrates what millions of people around the world and throughout history have considered the most significant event in human history–the resurrection of Jesus Christ.
As with previous ads, Hobby Lobby partners with Need Him Ministry to invite anyone who would like to know Jesus as Lord and Savior to contact chataboutjesus.com. The ad also offers a free Bible for mobile devices at mardel.com/bible.
